Savage Cuts At Waterford Regional Hospital.

We hand over €1.25Billion to unsecured bondholders, and this is reported on the same day.
The cuts will have a devastating impact on services at WRH.
Also not a dickie bird from the four sitting TD's,which is disgraceful, yet not surprising. And The three government TD's obviously have no shame.

Running a country is more complex that one regional hospital.

Emm, do you want to elaborate on that insightful post?
Why did Minister Phil Hogan drop the independent review into planning irregularities within Dublin and Cork city councils and Carlow, Meath, Galway and Cork county councils ?

Isn't one of the problems with hospitals in general that they tend to use up their budget, blithely go over it and assume that the DOH/HSE will take care of it? The new reality seems to be catching them short and showing up their overall management IMO.

Yes, this is exactly what used to happen, however the new Minister for Health has told (and stuck to his word) the hospitals that if there is a budget overrun then they will have to deal with it themselves and will not be getting "bailed out" for bad financial management as what used to happen up until this point.

I suppose you have a point when they are not able to run a hospital properly, not much hope for the country.

Wages are 70% of the health budget.

All these hospitals have no problem paying locums, agency staff, sick leave, overtime, 12 porters etc.........

    The hospitals need to restructure.

I suppose these 'savage' cuts are catching up to the rest of the country now. There are no cancer services in the NW. They were moved to Galway.
