Evidently there may have been a fear of the inauguration being legally-challenged on the basis of an incorrectly-worded oath.
Yes that fear started with a tool of a presenter on Fox news saying "I'm not sure Obama is actually president now"

The internet boards were lit up within minutes.

    Fools.

As you say, the link you've provided supports my case. I'm afraid I cannot return the compliment by providing one supporting yours.[/QUOTE]

I'm hearing media references to "an inappropriate joke" by VP Biden aimed at the mis-speaking Chief Justice Roberts following the Inauguration 'faux pas'. Does anybody know what it was?

He had forgotten he had more staff to swear in at a ceremony at the White House and mutterd "I guess my memories not as good as justice roberts", everyone in the room was laughing except Obama who sqeezed his arm in a real "sush!" way.

    acre ???

Yes, I care, that’s why I posted. To answer my own enquiry it was as follows:

    Obama and VP Joe Biden.

Obama asked Biden to swear in senior members of the White House staff during a press conference Wednesday.

Biden may have had a senior moment instead, forgetting momentarily what he was supposed to do.

Obama: Joe, you want to administer the oath?

Biden: Am I doing this again? Oh! For the senior staff. My memory's not as good as Justice Roberts' ... Chief Justice Roberts.

Obama, not looking amused, gave Biden a tap on his back with his right hand in an attempt to get his VP back on track.

The oath then took place without any more incidents, but Biden did get some laughs from staffers and the press corps.

Innocuous enough I suppose and PhoenixIreland beat me to it. Grrrrr
