The US economy is in such straits primarily because of it's spending on the war and general excessive spending by congress . The latter McCain opposes.
In a time of war a country can expect to lose money like that.
And I should remind people again that it was the democrats, NOT the republicans that refused to regulate years ago when warned about this whole Fannie Mae thing; saying that the republicans were just "trying to stop poor people from getting loans".

Neither McCain or Obama will solve the economic problems in the next four years, but McCain will be a much safer choice.

No, he's hot-headed, clearly doesn't understand economics, has a first response to any foreign crisis of "send in troops", pushed his superiors in Vietnam to target MORE civilian areas for bombing, and despite the obvious dangers to his health as a result of age and previous illnesses, has chosen an utterly loopy fundamentalist as his VP, someone who makes a plus on her CV out of running a town half the size of Trim.

If that's "safe", then I'd hate to see "dangerous".

And the former he supports. Typical Republican: oppose 'big' government and government spending in general unless it's on war and death.

Remind me again about your 'pro-life' stance...

Looks like you'll get your wish next January.
I would have thought with all the historians on the site, one of them would have mentioned the results of protectionist policies in the 30's. Obama is strongly opposed to free trade and foreign investment by American companies - where will that leave us?

Time for a tonic and someone that at least sounds credible and who can get through a sentence without misleading or telling a lie.

US soldiers are and were not sent in to kill innocent civilians or babies for that matter.
Secondly, There is a provision for in just war theory for such a war.
And finally, over 7 million babies have died since the start of the Iraq war.
It's really very simple. Even if you object to the morality of the war, the abortion issue is far greater.
