Sources say former Secretary of State Colin Powell will endorse Barack Obama at the Democratic National Convention.
could this be fatal for McCain?

F__K off! Powell is widely respected. He would have walked the election if he had run for the Republicans in 1996 (he turned down approaches from the Party establishement, apparently due to safety concerns). He has been courted by both McCain and Obama and has met both. This can only be seen as a major endorsement for Obama.

It will backfire on Obama - he will be seen by White America as a Racial candidate even more then he is now.
His biggest ticket right now is McCain looks like he just stood up from his wheelchair.![]()

I'm not so sure. If he was another Dem nobody would care. But he's a respected Republican. That means something. Most people now think he was right about Iraq. He's not a headbanger and he's definitely not somebody who would play the race card. If this proves correct it's a big plus for Obama
If this is true, it is a boost for Obama. Powell is a very well respected Republican and his support will help Obama among Independents.

A well respected Rep endorsing a Dem for the presidency! Is this a first? Has to shake confidence in McCain.Originally Posted by Rocky

The only senior Republican (who's career and standing within the GOP are not damaged) to come out for Obama also happens to be black.
Jesus CJH, are you blind. It would be impossible and naive not to draw that conclusion.
