    Obama's latest U-turn: Florida & Michigan delegates

    CNN

Obama has already abandoned his policies on campaign finance, drilling, and a host of other issues. Now he has abandoned one of his core positions on the Democratic primary process.

Obama insisted prior to the withdrawal of Hillary Clinton that he would accept any decision by the Democratic hierarchy in relation to this issue - in the full and happy knowledge that they were never, ever going to allow all delegates to be seated, and therefore boost Clinton.

He also deliberately obstructed the holding of re-votes, by refusing to take part in them.

But now that Clinton is out of the way, he has done a complete U-turn and asked that all delegates be seated.

"I believe party unity calls for the delegates from Florida and Michigan to be able to participate fully alongside the delegates from the other states and territories," he said in a letter to the co-chairs of the Democratic National Convention's Credentials Committee
Is there nothing that this guy won't jettison in order to get into the White House? Half his policies, his mad Reverend, and now his stances on the Democratic party's own internal rules

Its a empty gesture by Obama and Floridian Democrats know it. The fact that it has come hot on the heels of a very public heckling of Obama by black democrat voters will not be missed either.

It begs the question as to why he has waited this long.

    Outrageous.

Empty gesture is the word. Cynical is another one. Several polls have McCain leading Florida and Michigan is merely leaning Democrat. The polls have narrowed, in McCain's favour of late and Obama knows it. This cynical ploy will probably be seen for what it is by Florida Democrats who are doing the best to have their candidates elected in the General Election, but are rather half-hearted about Obama.

For God's sake lads, it was tactical not to want them all seated back in March, just like its tactical to want them all seated now.

The majority cannot therefore be the elite.

Unprincipled would be a better word.

I assume his slogan "Change YOU can believe in" was just tactical too.

All the middle class liberals who voted for this guy thinking he was the second coming of Christ must be feeling pretty stupid now. (Or at least they should, because he has made fools of them)

I am so glad I was never suckered in by this charlatan. American needed Hillary Clinton as president and now we are stuck with a choice between a Republican and an arrogant jackass.
