Well, let me put it this way - what do YOU think of the fact that 19% of Americans think that a plumber has more understanding of the issues facing America than two US senators, both of whom have an understanding of every issue under the sun, regardless of their views on solving them?
I think it means 19% of Americans are dumb. What do you think?
Let me ask you something. If a pollster called you and actually gave you Joe the Plumber as a choice alongside 2 US senators, wouldn't you be tempted to say "oh yeah...Joe's the man."
Maybe 19% of Americans have a good sense of humour. Or maybe they're dumb, I don't know. Looks like a weekend poll...maybe they were drunk.
Today's polls. Looks like that ARG poll a while back with Obama in the lead in West Virginia may have been an outlier:
The green states below allow a user to use paper ballots, or a voter-verified paper-audit-trail for its electronic-voting machines whereas the rest (in at least some counties) use touch-screen machines without them.

West Virginia? How many EVs is that worth? 5 EVs that Obama is actually fighting for (or at least pretending to fight for), forcing McCain to spend valuable time and money defending the state.
Obama's overall strategy is paying off nicely. He's got four times as much advertising compared to McCain, is absolutely flush with cash ($150m in donations last month) and he's still got the 30-minute commercials to go.
The national polls show that Obama's lead is just over 6% on average.
The two polls with weightings close to or over 1.0 (Gallup and Rasmussen) give him an average lead of 6.5%.
That's only marginally down from polls earlier last week.
I think the national percentages will be tighter, but Obama seems unlikely to be beaten. I didn't think that would be the case. It is a very pleasant and welcome surprise.
I still say that by the time Hannity and O'Reilly are finished with him he will be failed Democratic presidential candidate No.6 that is still with us on planet Earth. America is a very rightwing country and that will be the decider in the end. Even Clinton only got in with a strong third-candidate splitting the conservative vote. Obama's best shot is if Bob Barr can pick off enough redneck votes. If you think I'm rightwing (as some here erroneously do except on economics), then I'm Karl Marx compared to American conservatives.

No, it isn't. Parts of it are. I was in America recently, and parts are conservative, parts are liberal. It just depends where you go. If it was a very rightwing country, Obama wouldn't even be running.America is a very rightwing country and that will be the decider in the end.
You have to remember that Perot took conservatives who were disillusioned with Bush by 1992, and were considering voting for Clinton anyway. In 1992 Clinton hadn't yet become the hate figure for the Right that he subsequently became - and in a two-horse race, moderate GOPers disillusioned with Bush would have voted for Clinton.Even Clinton only got in with a strong third-candidate splitting the conservative vote.
No. Barr and Nader will cancel each other out.Obama's best shot is Bob Barr can pick off enough redneck votes.
