He has been there for 20 years and says he never had a problem but now playing politics. Just given GOP something else to kick him with 1.) 20 years of ignorance 2.) abandoning church for politics.
He is right to resign. The only question is why it took twenty years and an election for him to see through it. This is the guy who thinks he can negotiate with Ahmadinejad. You would expect him to see through Rev Wright a lot faster before you would send him to do a job like that.
He needs to find a new church fast. Americans won't elect a president who has nowhere to worship. As well as that, some will bring up the 'Obama is a Muslim' thing again. I recommend Catholicism. The religious and secular bigots would go crazybut the small town blue collar voters who up to now didn't want anything got to do with him would reappraise their views of him.

Far, far too late. His judgement will be questioned by the GOP as to him not making this decision early on, and why he went to this Church of hate for 20 yrs.

This is serious - he had a lot of convincing to do to win over the blue collar/C&W vote and he's blown it.
