I just heard this on the radio on the way home from work.

I think when the dust settles here, there will be quite the clearout.

Keillor at least 10% uglier than Franken.

I’ll miss GK. Loved his stuff. What a shame to go out this way.

Here’s Why Democrats Forced Al Franken to Do the Right Thing—And Why They May Come to Regret It

Do you think we’d have heard all these calls for his resignation from his Democratic colleagues if Minnesota had a Republican governor? No way.

So Al Franken is out. It was the right thing for him to do. I guess. What he did was wrong. It wasn’t asking-a-14-year-old-girl-to-take-her-clothes-off wrong, but it was wrong.

There has to be as the proper evolution of this topic. First, sexual harassment, assault and paedophilia became verboten in practice, not just law. That followed with institutional cover ups of such things in the private sector.

The last to fall in line, sadly enough yet again, are the people who make and uphold the laws in the first place that all to often arrogantly hold themselves exempt from the laws they demand others follow. Worse, they even arrange that the taxpayers pay for their misdeeds, even on this topic.
The Secret Slush Fund for Lawmakers Accused of Sexual Harassment

Much of the same attitude exists at home in Ireland too as we all know too well, e.g., this example in NI:
Taxpayer funds David McNarry's bill for libelling journalist - The Irish News
and the scandals over things like the fixed penalty notices where judges and Guards and other connected people wiped their records whilst John and Jane Public got stuck with fines and points on dubious ticketing practices that led to further scandals, etc.

    Doesn’t change his prose.

Do you really believe this is a problem caused by being liberal?

We live in confusing times. Here, for example, are two new supporters of Mr. Franken:

Indeed we do. I am amazed Laura Ingraham would support Al.

On the other hand I think politico has given good reasons why the Dems insisted Al had to go:

Why Democrats had to dump Franken
The party needs a clean contrast with Republicans heading into the 2018 midterms.
