DOJ will consider new special counsel on Clinton Foundation - CNNPolitics

This seems to be the initial stages and no Special Counsel has been appointed yet but it might be unsettling to HRC fans.

What I've been reading is that this is on foot of pressure from the WH, which is not going down well with the DoJ.

If an enquiry is warranted it should absolutely take place.

In Trump's shoes I'd allow the process to commence and at some point really piss of HRC by issuing a preemptive pardon.

It would have the advantage of looking magnanimous while annoying HRC greatly.

It would also make it easier to issue any pardons required as a result of Mueller. It would depoliticise the pardon process to some small extent.

Some WH pressure but also GOP.

    This is the preliminary stage.

Evil. It would also finish the Clintons in the Democratic Party.

Meh. Watch when they don't find anything and it's blown off as another conspiracy by the Trumpeters.

Edit: Lol, wait. "US Attorney General Jeff Sessions has asked senior federal prosecutors to "evaluate certain issues" presented by House Republicans, including alleged ties between the Clinton Foundation and the sale of Uranium One."

So the whole story here is that the Attorney General, a Republican, has asked his underlings to look into a Republican conspiracy theory?

    Sad.

I don't think pardons work like that. They require an admission of guilt, for a start.
