As expected Mueller is seeking a May trial date for Manafort and Gates. Specifically the Special Counsel's team is seeking to have the trial start on 14 may 2018. Will be fun.

Meanwhile polling shows that a majority (59%) of Americans hold the Mueller investigation to be "fair". By comparison just 26% believe hold the investigation to be "not fair". The percentage of the public holding the investigation to be "fair" has been holding relatively steady over the past few months, possibly indicating that the public does not see much merit in the attacks leveled against the Special Counsel.

Former Trump campaign adviser Rick Gates is finalizing a plea deal with special counsel Robert Mueller's office, indicating he's poised to cooperate in the investigation, according to sources familiar with the case.

Gates has already spoken to Mueller's team about his case and has been in plea negotiations for about a month. He's had what criminal lawyers call a "Queen for a Day" interview, in which a defendant answers any questions from the prosecutors' team, including about his own case and other potential criminal activity he witnessed.
Gates to deal this month, you would expect Manafort to follow (thousands of pages of evidence + accomplice testimony do not result in a happy ending).

This’ll be interesting. Gates is involved in charges that carry decades of prison time. If all he's got is confirmation of Trump Jr’s idiocy then is that really worth shaving much time off? Unless you're convinced Manafort has information you need and Gates is a swifter way of forcing a more leveraged deal with him.

Do you know that for sure, and where the hell is "Calvery"?

Anyway, since Magna Carta and the Napoleonic Code justice systems have moved on a wee bit.

Jesus was tried at the palace of Pontius Pilate. He was executed at Calvary. Pilate found him guilty of nothing - it was the priests who sentenced him to death.

He was tried after one of his mates turned tout on him. Seems Trump is going the same way.
