Europa Conventus Delenda Est
There is one difference. In the original script Santos LOST. However at the last hour that had to be changed. The actor John Spencer who was playing Santos's vice-presidential candidate Leo, died suddenly. As he had been a central character in the series they couldn't just have him disappear, so they had to explain where he went. The only solution was to have the character die also. They then decided that to have Santos lose the presidency and his VP all in one day would be going to far, so they redid the script and the narrow win for Vinick became a narrow win for Santos.
If Obama is the candidate he'd better pray the outcome for him (minus the dead VP candidate) is like the filmed outcome, and not the intended outcome.

A Vinick win would have far more interestingOriginally Posted by NotDevsSon

It was meant to leave open the possibility of a future series, as Alan Alda was available to do one. The actor playing Santos wasn't. But it was not to be.Originally Posted by The Trinity Politick
