It's ridiculous that the primary stage of US Presidential election are strung out for seven whole months when they are taking place in different states. They could have one 'super Tuesday' as they call some of them, in August ready for the Labour Day start to the final election campaign. It must be the amount of money being made, as I can't see any practical reason for dragging the process out. It's shocking waste of time when three months would do it.
It's not unusual for soap operas to run year round, is it?

By the way, Canadians are able to get an election started and finished in 28 days.
They hold serious debates, in two languages(fluenly), across all policies, and visiting several time zones.
And on the basis of the evidence, in recent years - they elect better, more intelligent, and more honest leaders.
