The amount of money spent over the course of the election campaigns by all the candidates is unspeakable, a sin and a basically putting lipstick on a bulldog. Longer campaigns means more money being spent across the board, whether it be on their make-up artists to their nutritionists right down to the guys who remove their nasal hair.

It was worse in 2008! With no incumbent President or VP seeking the nomination, there were vacancies in both parties.
