He'll walk it. No credible GOP opponent. And the recovery will probably start in his 2nd term.

With Americas debt the way it is, they'll probably be glad they did in the long run.

It is great to see this poll rise ... its means Obama is winning back the Democrats and Independents he lost over the debt ceiling fiasco.

He seems to have learnt the lesson that he lost support, not because he stood up to the Tea Party, but that he seemed to cave in too easily.

The middle class are starting to believe he in on their side once again, in the teeth of an anti-jobs and pro-wealth Congress.

BUT it would be wrong to fast forward this to next September, in the majority of polls he is still in negative territory, and he needs these small upticks to continue, more or less. I always thought he had a fighting chance, and he should still be thinking in terms of a close and hard-fought election.

He might just do it again
    Sure it is

And that's after trillions pumped into the financial system and into the economy through fiscal stimulus. Obama has been a complete failure. Even worse than Bush.

The only person who can stop the rot and sort the mess out is Ron Paul. But his problem is that he has too good of a grasp of economics, which conversely makes him unpopular with the brainwashed plebs.

Very true. He's going up because the Republicans keep pushing Gingrich, who's toxic to undecideds.
If you're the first out the door, that's not called panicking.

He's 78 years old and not an imposing man (read very short). He also has crazy ideas and is a racist. Good luck supporting him.

Comparison Bush monthly job losses/ job additions versus Obama.

Remember Reagan was re-elected in 1984 with an unemployment rate approaching 8%.

The American electorate will decide on a few factors -
    • How well they trust & like the candidate (Obama scores well there - he is consistently well liked, even when performance is judged to be bad),
    • Can the other guy do better? ,
    • What are the prospects coming down the pike?

Obama will not have it easy, but (as I have always maintained) he has a good fighting chance.
