The Palinosaur is back and eyeing up 2012

Folks, lest there be any doubt whatsoever about what we are dealing with here, I've taken a moment to transcribe word for word Palin's answer to a question during her post-speech Q&A that asked what are the top three priorities that need to be addressed immediately in the US.

The first thing she mentions, without skipping a beat in fairness to her: "reign in spending and not raise these extremely high budgets". That's about all she has to say on the matter before quickly moving on.

To remember the second top priority she needs to take a peak at her hand-notes....you can see it very clearly - it is cringingly obvious and embarrassing - in the video below at 46' 45". And so she answers (my transcription): "....we have got to jump-start these energy projects. It's ridiculous that we have just sitting warehoused under God's green earth here in the United States of America rich resources, oil, gas and coal and we've got to walk that walk too to allow them come to development". So the energy problem isn't much of a problem at all: just use all the energy resources that America already has. Really makes you wonder why nobody else has thought of it before, but I guess Palin is a special kind of thinker. Again, the quote above is pretty much the entirety of what she has to say on the matter.

And the third thing? I've gone to some care to transcribe it word for word so as not to do disservice to La Palin. And here it is, one of the three most important priorities in the United States today:

"The third one is kinda tougher to put our arms around, but allowing America's spirit to rise again by not being afraid to kinda go back to our roots as a God-fearing nation where we're not afraid to say - especially in times of potential trouble in the future here - we're not afraid to say, you know, we don't have all the answers as fallible men and women, so it would be wise for us to start seeking some divine intervention again in this country so that we can be safe and secure and prosperous again, to have people in government who aren't afraid to go that route....not be so afraid of what the media would say about them if they were to proclaim their alliance on our Creator".

So, no doubt you Palin apologists approve of your lady's ideas? You agree, I suppose, with her view that it is as a top priority in US public life to overturn the constitutional separation of church and state and have "God fearing" public officials in office doing "the Creator's" work?

Religious mythology is all very well for providing individual comfort blankets but the thought that someone would base policy decisions on their personal mythology which will profoundly effect the US and by extension the world is frankly terrifying.

Right her IQ would be nowhere near that of Joey the clown Biden.

AFAIK she is being pushed by Fox News.

The likely motive is to sweep up the votes of the disillusioned angry conservative tea party type voters.

Corporate America, represented by the likes of Rupert Murdoch who owns Fox would be truly alarmed if these voters backed a candidate like Ron Paul.

One could say Palin is a Judas goat, for the hidden corporate agenda.

I wouldn't put it like that. I don't believe it's conscious manipulation. That's why Palin would probably be the best of the mainstream candidates. At least she wouldn't consciously implement the corporatist agenda.

If Palin runs/wins it would essentially be as in independent, even if republican in name. I think Palin as candidate/president might actually be good for America in the longer term as it would shock moderate republicans into working with democrats and consequently might actually lessen polarization. The big question is who she would surround herself with if she became President.
