Ron Paul lets the mask slip

Paul is a total nutcase. He typifies the libertarian right. Bigotry and isolationism masquerading as constitutionalism. In this video he lets the mask slip. He accuses the federal Reserve ( against which he and his cohorts have a particular animus) of loaning money to Saddam and being being involved in water gate (no laughing now!) oh and being secretive. The last point is important as he has a bill to audit the federal reserve which he is pushing in the house. Bernanake, struggling, not to laugh at the crack pot, points out that every 5 years the Fed releases every word at every meeting and every agreement into the Fed enters rendering the Nutjob's tirade null and void. Worth a watch.

    1. The Federal Reserve is unconstitutional.
    2. The Federal Reserve is a secretive organisation
    3. Why did Alan Greenspan reduce the base rate to 1% in 2002 way below the rate of inflation?
    4. The Fed releases minutes 2 weeks after their rate decisions, but never more than that.
    5. Do you not look a bit silly starting up this thread and licking the Federal Reserve on the same day that data released show that Home sales in the US are worse than they were during the First Great Depression?
    6. Scared of Liberty?

Oh and here is some footage of your hero Ben Bernanke making some pretty fine predictions

That's strange, because he won the straw poll at the recent convention of conservatives. I guess you didn't know that.

He is not my hero but Paul is a nutter. Seriously...backing Saddam...Watergate. JHC! As Bernanke pointed out to a flabbergasted Paul every 5 years they roll out the records. Points 3 to 6 are your fairly dotty opinions. Face it the guy is a nut.

It needs more than an audit but not a bad start.

The best thing about Ron Paul is his foreign policy. He wants to stop the US from getting involved in military campaigns thousands of miles from home.

The neo-cons in the US hate him because of this.

Too bad he'll be too old to make another run at the presidency in 2012.

No, the best thing about him is that he looks and sounds like Frasier's dad.

You should think a little longer about the implications of Ron Paul winning such a poll. I'm afraid it doesn't preclude him being a nutter - if he is a nutter (as independently suggested here), it implies instead that the conservatives in the straw poll were unable to detect that fact...for whatever reason.
