About the author of a book titled "Deception and Abuse at the Fed" published in 2008:
"Robert D. Auerbach was an economist with the U.S. House of Representatives Financial Services Committee for eleven years, assisting with oversight of the Federal Reserve."
Summary of book:
"In Deception and Abuse at the Fed, Robert Auerbach, a former banking committee investigator, recounts major instances of Fed mismanagement and abuse of power that were exposed by Rep. Gonzalez, including:
- Blocking Congress and the public from holding powerful Fed officials accountable by falsely declaring—for 17 years—it had no transcripts of its meetings;
- Manipulating the stock and bond markets in 1994 under cover of a preemptive strike against inflation;
- Allowing $5.5 billion to be sent to Saddam Hussein from a small Atlanta branch of a foreign bank—the result of faulty bank examination practices by the Fed;
- Stonewalling Congressional investigations and misleading the Washington Post about the $6,300 found on the Watergate burglars.
Auerbach provides documentation of these and other abuses at the Fed, which confirms Rep. Gonzalez's belief that no government agency should be allowed to operate with the secrecy and independence in which the Federal Reserve has shrouded itself."

Here's Ron Paul today laying into Hillary Clinton's expenditure on wars and foreign embassies. Ron Paul who is anti war, (sorry to disappoint those posters here who hate liberty) asks about the trillion spent on Afghanistan, Iraq and on the 1 Billion Each spect on the embassies in Baghdad, Afghanistan and now London. If Hillary let her mask slip the sight would not be pleasant.

Of course he is. Sure after the Wall Street Crash in 1987 he said Greenspan's intervention would create a bubble down the road similar to what happened in the 1920s. Ah yes the Dot com bubble. Then it popped, 9/11, Greenspan no bother Interest rates down to 1%. Paul goes mad as this is the below inflation, and would create an even bigger bubble which that would lead eventually to another Great Depression. Yep the Housing bubble, popped crash, bailed out, Quantitative Easing and now the final act the treasury bubble which is now popping. So no more bubbles. Collapse.
Ron Paul and Murray Rothbard (now deceased) join the dots from the 1920 mini depression to now via the working of the Federal Reserve in a concise and logical manner. The Social norms dictated by the Federal Reserves perferences became their behaviour which then feedback into the social norms of the Federal reserve which then became their preferences for their behaviour and so on for 100 years.
We are where we are......

Winner, answers the substance of the OP and fills in the missing information that Rep Paul should have entered into the record at the hearing.
The University of Texas is a democratic stronghold in Texas as well housing the largest democratic campus chapter in America. The charges originate from a Democratic Congressman back in the day.
TYT covered Paul's win in the straw poll at CPAC which may be the reason for sour grapes from some quarters.
