    texas: 3 executions this week.

Texas executed 3 men in huntsville prison this week. One was granted a reccommendation of commutation to Life without parole, but the governor rejected the reccommendation, and 45 mins later, he was executed. The guy was involved in a robbery that resulted in the shooting of a shop assistant, His accomplace actually fired the shots and HIS death penalty was commuted to life without parole.

Texas has a higher murder rate than some states that don't have a death penalty,
something has to be done to stop this slaughter.

Thompson did not fire at the slaying victim, though he participated in the robbery and shot another clerk four times, according to official reports. The second clerk lived.

Houston police said Thompson and Butler had robbed at least eight other convenience stores during a crime spree that left three other clerks fatally shot.

My heart bleeds for the poor murdering scumbag.

Danielle Simpson was put to death Wednesday night, almost 10 years after murdering 84-year-old Geraldine Davidson.

During his trial, testimony showed that Simpson and three other youths kidnapped Davidson from her South Sycamore Street residence on Jan. 26, 2000 and paraded her around in the trunk of her vehicle before tossing her into the frigid waters of the Neches River with her hands bound behind her back and a cinder block tied to her ankles.

Murdering them does nothing but cause another death. No matter what, this is state killing.

i have no issue with the concept of a death penalty (though wonder how effective it is as a deterrent) i do however have concerns around ensuring that the person sentenced to death is 100% guilty and its not a miscarriage of justice.

To get the death penalty in the US guilt isn't so much a factor as the need to be poor and/or black.
