I would loved to have terminated these particular animals

1.Danielle Simpson, 30, was condemned for the murder of Geraldine Davidson, a former school teacher and church organist abducted nearly 10 years ago during a burglary of her home in Palestine, about 100 miles southeast of Dallas. Simpson was put to death Wednesday evening for the abduction-slaying of an 84-year-old east Texas woman who was weighted down with a cinder block and thrown into a river
Testimony showed he held a knife to Davidson's throat and ordered her to surrender money from her purse. Davidson's mouth was duct taped, her hands tied behind her, her legs taped and a pillow case was pulled over her head. Davidson then carried her over his shoulder outside and threw her in the trunk of her car.
Testimony showed the three drove around in her car, bought marijuana, tried to buy cocaine, then went about 10 miles out of town to visit a relative where Simpson opened the trunk and showed off their captive.
When Davidson asked for her medication, Simpson told her to "Shut up!" and slammed the trunk lid. They drove back to Palestine and showed off their captive to more friends while Simpson's wife made calls on Davidson's cell phone.
The trio was joined by Lionel Simpson, his 15-year-old brother. With Danielle Simpson driving, they went to a dead-end road, pulled the woman out, re-taped her arms and legs, beat her and tossed her back in the trunk. They went to a fast-food place to eat, then drove to the Neches River, threw her to the ground, kicked her in the face, tied one end of a rope around her legs and the other end to a cinder block.
A medical examiner testified Davidson was alive when she was thrown in the river. A passing motorist eventually spotted the body floating in the water.

    2. Robert Thompson - Thompson pointed his pistol at store clerk Mubarakali Meredia, who was at the counter, and told him to open the cash register and hand over all of the money. Thompson shot Meredia in the abdomen when he did not move quickly enough. Thompson also shot at Meredia’s cousin, Mansor Bhai Rahim Mohammed, who also worked at the shop, when Rahim began running toward the rear of the store. At Butler’s trial, the State offered evidence that Butler also shot at Rahim, and threatened several other customers.
Thompson then shot Meredia three more times as he lay on the floor. Thompson ordered Meredia to get up and get the money for him. Meredia did so. Then Thompson put his pistol to Meredia’s neck and pulled the trigger. Nothing happened because Thompson had run out of bullets. Thompson hit Meredia on the head with the butt of his gun and struck him with the cash register drawer. Nonetheless, Meredia survived.
Thompson took the money and ran out of the store, while Butler grabbed a stack of lottery tickets and followed behind Thompson. Thompson jumped into the driver’s seat of their car, while Butler got into the passenger’s seat, rolled down his window, and fired two shots at Rahim who had run to the front door. One bullet hit Rahim in the chest, and he died.

    3. Khristian Oliver - In 1998, Oliver, now 32, shot and killed a man whose home he was burglarizing.

Yet for all your apparent enthusiasm for this savagery you found it necessary to use euphemisms to describe the process. You wanted to 'terminate' the 'animals' rather than kill the people. Perhaps there's some spark of decency alive in you still.

I'm opposed to the death penalty, but not out of any sympathy for those who are convicted of deliberate murder. I can see or justify the difference between being anti death-penalty and being pro-choice in the abortion debate. And I can see a difference between carrying out the death penalty and killing in war. People who are convicted of deliberate murder are the scum of the earth and I've no sympathy for them, but I don't think it's acceptable to mimic their actions

If you want to heap contempt on someone it would be better to do it to one who has committed murder than one merely convicted of it. Not all murders are convicted and not all who are convicted are murders.

Oh I'm well aware of that, but we have to talk in terms of those 'convicted' of murder, because that's who the death penalty is handed down to

There are lots of people who do not live by the sword, but die by the sword of others.
