But yes Meghan should she marry Harry will be committing bigamy.
I understand Meghan is joining the Anglicans, so the Catholic view of her marriage(s) are now irrelevant.

It does,nt matter what false church she joins ,the catholic view of marriage is the only relevant one for somebody like Meghan who was educated as a catholic.

Nicole Kidman's marriage to Tom Cruise was not considered a marriage by the Catholic Church when she married Keith Urban in a very big Catholic ceremony. She's a Catholic (and still is). She married Tom in a civil ceremony.
She also married Tom Cruise. Even Pope Benedict would have cut her slack after living through that.

    KSW and all that wingnuttery

According to the Catholic Church, Nicole and Tom never had a valid marriage as it was not celebrated with a Catholic Church ceremony.

    Kidman is a catholic.

Afaik and i may be wrong but when a catholic marries in a non catholic church the marriage is valid but not licit.
She may well have got an annulment of her marriage to Cruise.

You won't be told one way or the other.

They married in a civil ceremony. It was not a valid marriage but I don't mind if the CC gave her an annulment

If it was not a valid marriage then there is no need for an annulment as in the eyes of the church no marriage occurred.
    Valid means true.

As I said I think catholics who marry in non catholic marriage ceremonies have valid but illicit marriages.

    Illicit means unlawful.

A thing can be unlawful yet true.

Yikes, this whole affair has the enviable history of being like an unfortunate wedding i was invited to in a less well off part of the City.

The bride was lovely (ahem) while the Priest welcomed everyone to the "afters" he spoke too long and the bride shouted "will ya hurry uuup faader, I'm burstin' for a pi'ant and a fag!"

If it was the type of wedding I think it was then it was catholic , valid and licit.

Attended no doubt by very law abiding citizens.
