Is the UK thinking about a war?

I was watching channel 4 for the night tonight ( remote gone missing again). It started with ads at every break fir the RAF then the RAF reserves and begor if the navy didn't throw in a pitch and reserves for all parts of the military got a shout as well.

I was told lately that youth unemployment in the uk is at its highest ever.

That plus the recession and the conservative government would seem like the uk might be looking for a war. Of course they are probably not the only ones. History truly teaches us nothing and the puppet masters just keep pulling the strings..

Ps They'd never chance invading us again would they? We might be looking attractive again what with all that gas under Leitrim.........

Btw harsh times is a cracker of a film.

The army Xbox games ads directly followed by British army recruitment ads say a lot....

I am sure they are thinking about a nice 'winnable' war with Argentina or some country they would be able to beat if they had to fight alone. I think the advantage for Britain today is that it knows it's place in global affairs as a supporting player in NATO and a junior partner (but with a veto) at the UN Security Council. But I doubt they would want to go through with such a thing. They are still bogged down in Afghanistan and with all the reports emerging about inadequate equipment and cutbacks, they might want to take a back seat for a while.

The Argies would be better just imposing sanctions agin them and bleed the feckers dry...see how much they like the sheep-shagger Islands then

The UK is always thinking about war. Or at least BAE and other companies involved in arms dealing usually are which means Whitehall will be.

Always tempting for a UK Prime Minister to have a short sharp war with someone beatable ever since Thatcher pulled herself out of an impending election defeat in the early 80's.

Besides, they now have a surplus of Neets and a war is always handy for either employing them or getting rid of some of them. Its traditional, same as it is in the US.
