Growing cannabis for personal use in the UK has been decriminalised

I'm surprised that this hasn't got a lot of media attention as it's a highly debated issue but growing up to 9 plants of cannabis in the UK is no longer a criminal offence. Instead growers could face a band C charge - 100-125% of weekly income or a community charge.

Good news, but it doesnt go far enough. The growing of cannabis for personal consumption should be totally decriminalised with the regulation and licensing of sale at the discretion of local authorities.

    Why not just legalise?
9 plant for personal use? who decided that?
I have never grown it so does anyone know exactly how much 9 could produce?

Otherwise excellent news, perhaps we will follow the UK in their adoption of a positive line for a change.

It's a step in the right direction at least. Better than the last nanny state government who increased penalties.

Dry it would probably fill a biscuit tin.

According to the document it assumes 40g per plant or 360g in total. Just under 13 ounces.
