    Interesting.

A guy wearing a dress has called on the UK not to legalise gay marriage. How ironic

David Cameron will be behaving like a dictator if he introduces it according to this fella. We can always rely these mammals to supply the right injection of hyperbole into any debate lest the horrid spectre of intelligence should manifest itself

This is not playing well with the Conservative grassroots. If they had a referendum on changing the voting system, the public should also be allowed to determine what is and isn't marriage.

There is no hypocrisy here, the man's religious tenants are opposed to gay marriage, so he opposes it. You may disagree with him, as I do, but the charge of hypocrisy is invalid.

Many "religious" people, of various hues and backgrounds, as an aside, fully support the right of gays to marry.

Fluffy won't be happy. Where has he gone by the way? Regards the OP, thankfully these dinosaurs are getting taken less and less seriously as the years pass. I no longer get flustered or angry by these men in robes and their bizarre flexing of their 'masculine muscles' by telling gays to quit their sinful bedroom gymnastics or they'll be damned to hell I tells ya! Really like, is there not FA cup games to be worrying about?

And the nice thing about this side of the fence - people can make their own minds up and vote with their feet if a split does occur.

    I just love ignorant clerics.

    1. Dr Sentamu argues that is not the role of the state to define marriage.. Does he then think it the role of the church? It appears he does...
    2. Dr Sentamu then argues that the state should not go beyond the bible and that re-defining marriage would be akin to changing tradition.. So he believes a mythological book (or the self-imposed guardians of said book) should define what marriage is and he ignores the tradition of same-sex 'marriages' pre-Constantine.

    What a f*cking tool.

It's odd that the main objection seems to be a purely language issue.
They don't want the word marriage to be redefined.

I don't recall any major objections when it turned out the world wide web had nothing to do with spiders.
