The face of the doppelgänger of a friend (or at least a foto-fit version of it) who was wanted in connection with an IRA bomb in London in the '70's adorned many Public Notice Boards outside police stations in Britain, N. Ireland and, even, on the Isle of Man. The Foto-fit image got wide publicity in the media, especially the red-tops. Friends and relations warned him not to go over to Britain as he frequently travelled in those parts by air, ferry and road. However, he never ever had any hassle. In fact, he and his then girlfriend used to get a kick out of walking up to such Notice Boards to see if the doppelgänger's image was still there, with him going "God, yer man reminds me of somebody" if it was.

I think I see now why you get hassle from the authorities. I'd say that you are known to them.
Your first sentence is the most convoluted, twisted, set of weasel words that I have heard from apologists for the so-called Republican Movement.
In respect of your second sentence, would you please give us two or three examples of how the late Detective Garda McCabe was what you claim him to have been.
For the sake of clarification, when using the word 'sentence' I am, of course, referring to the stringing together of words, not anything that might have been handed down to you by a Judge on the Bench. I clarify this because of the evidence that you are a cretin that is before me.

I suppose you wear the Poppy in your username (handle) with pride?
"I hereby declare that the Continuity Executive and the Continuity Army Council are the lawful Executive and Army Council respectively of the Irish Republican Army, and that the governmental authority, delegated in the Proclamation of 1938, now resides in the Continuity Army Council, and its lawful successors."
Comdt. General Thomas Maguire
Tell me Risteard does the tin foil hat you were under your black Beret set off the detectors at the airport? How far can you travel drawing the dole from the free state? Or do you fund your trips by other means, Bank robberys, drug dealing, protection money, diesel rackets?
I flew to Manchester at the weekend, one of the worst airports during the troubles following the bombing in Warrington. There was not even a passport control stop. I could have been anyone leaving the flight. Basically straight off the flight, out the door and on my way. When I returned to Ireland I had the queue to get through passport control to get back home!
What controls are you talking about? Perhaps those with criminal convictions/republican leanings or the like have had their names recorded in the past and are checked. I don't know.

I think you misunderstand him. He doesn't recognize the PIRA as being the IRA, that would be the armed wing of RSF (and yes, I know what he's going to say to this, but we are not children here). So instead of being 'the' IRA they are simply a party militia of PSF. He means to denigrate the provisionals.
I wouldn't expect any answer to this. As he was a member of the 'Free State' forces he was, in his view, a legitimate target. In respect of your second sentence, would you please give us two or three examples of how the late Detective Garda McCabe was what you claim him to have been.

The most pathetic display of MOPEry I ever seen. Even for this forum...
Pathetic. you should be ashamed of yourselves. I can honestly say, even I feel embarrassed for you....

Fear God, Honour thy King.
Never had a problem, the only way you'd notice the difference between us and the French passengers is that ourselves and Channel Islanders get to skip the queue in some of the airports. I go through the UK about once a month.
I would suggest that the people who are persistently stopped, aren't stopped because they're Irish, they're stopped because they look crazy.
Watch Nothing To Declare. All the people they stop for drugs/weapons searches LOOK like the sort of people who carry drugs and weapons. I've no idea why, if you're loading someone with 500k worth of drugs, you don't spend €100 on a cheap suit for them.
To the crazies who are complaining: Try going through it next time in a dark navy suit and white shirt with an open top button. No issue.
If you're the first out the door, that's not called panicking.
