UK Politics Forum now open for discussion, debate and news

The British General Election is over, and a new Government has begun work. As a result the British General Election 2010 Forum has now been closed for new posts, and will soon be archived.

We've opened a new forum for UK Politics here, which for now will fall under the "Foreign Affairs" grouping.

Is it it not more of a "Great Britain" forum rather than United Kingdom, given that Northern Ireland/6 County failed entity/Occupied Territory has its own forum?

It seems perverse to include the United Kingdom in the "Foreign Affairs" section when the United Kingdom includes part of the island of Ireland - or is this all about some kind of "cheap point" scoring?

The United Kingdom does not include part of Ireland. It has de facto authority there but not de jure authority.

Anyone who thinks otherwise; is not Irish.

The UK consists of Northern Ireland and that has cemented and ratified by international law.

Can we assume that the United Kingdom of Britain and Northern Ireland is not regarded as part of Europe, as it has been placed in the "Foreign Affairs" section instead of among the "Europe" threads.

Let's just have a UK Politics Forum that includes NI, it's plain silly having a UK and a NI forum.

Politics.ie doesn't like to be seen to have opinions... the placing of the fora is an administrative matter, and shouldn't be seen as reflecting opinion

Almost amny position of the UK or NI forums will result in screeches & howls, though I guess Dave will take the comments on board and see if there's another home for this

In the meantime... I suggest people debate... instead about debating about where their debate is ...

No, it's not. These sections should remain separate. Cluttering up the UK politics forum with threads to do solely with Northern Ireland is not a good idea.
