Will they share a cell with the bankers?

Seeing as they could not force a witness to travel from Denmark, I won't hold my breath waiting on O'B to travel from Portugal. I was surprised that Sam Smyth didn't feature the story on his show this morning, he was the one who broke the story about Lowry's house extension. Of course O'B is now his boss, not that that would effect a fearless journalist.

It might be an idea to check your facts before resorting to personal abuse. Yes Bruton sacked him, but Lowry resigned from FG, he was never expelled. Indeed he supported the FG led government until it was thrown out by the electorate.

None of this changes the fact that potentially the most expensive piece of corruption in the state's history was conducted by a FG minister. It's an absolute myth that FG are any less corrupt than FG, it's just that they have had far less opportunity. In just three years in government they gave us Lowry and of course Hugh Coveney who may at least may well have had the decency to commit suicide when the consequences his corruption finally hit home.
The Mahon Tribunal found Olivia Mitchell to have received an inappropriate payment from Frank Dunlop at the time of the 1992 Election. F.G. Gael has taken no action against her.

    No, just till

    1) the final report is issued, and
    2) any prosecutions that result (not from the report, but which cannot be used as evidence, but reports are a convenient way of . . . ahem . . . pointing the Gardai in the direction of where to look for evidence!

As the example of Harney's comments on Haughey showed, one wrong word can be used to get someone off the hook from prosecution.

So posters would be well advised to be careful, for their own sakes given that some of the people involved are litigation fanatics, and for the sake of the country given the importance if there are legal cases that nothing is said or done that compromises the cases.

Legal threats, injunctions, etc are flying around like confetti over the tribunal reports. Posters would be well advised not to be dumb enough to get sucked into one.

Firstly, tell us what they did. I'm not stating categorically that they didn't do anything, but I'd like to see SOME sort of evidence. (that's not being an apologist for their behaviour, btw)
Secondly, there is not the slightest suggestiong that IF they did anything, it could possibly have reprecussions anything like what might occur thanks to Lowry's deeds
