The longer this goes on the easier it is for the Trubunal team to dig big gaping holes in the fabolousfairyland story.

We've already seen the Bertie change his lies countless times as the Tribunal has proved his stories false. We've seen Tim Collings caught lying through his teeth. It must be nerveracking for future witnesses to be going in knowing that the Tribunal is getting ever closer to blowing them all out of the water in one go.

    Go Mahon!

I'm only a newcomer on here (I have no party political affiliations) but I find it very instructive that there's only one poster who's even tryng to put up a defence of Bertie in this thread

in my opinion: the coincidences are too many, the amnesia is too frequent, the facts don't tie in with the spin. I don't believe the 'dig outs' ever happened, I don't believe there were any 'loans'. I do believe that Bertie got a lot of hard cash from as yet undisclosed sources during a period that local and national politicans (not FF only!) were taking bribes from developers.

Mahon has got right in around the back of Bertie by virtue of the Davy's donation and the relative openness of PSTB but there will be other financial institutions out there bursting to confess if only they are asked and Mahon needs to keep his foot on the pedal, the pips are beginning to squeak, but the one with the most info is AIB.

yup. big questions should be coming down the line for Davy's too IMO - why did that "smoking gun" lodgement that originated with Davy's go into what now appears to be BA's personal a/c? Did BA steal it from the consituency donations account or did Davy's intend it to go to him?

More Sterling conversions today, three lodgments, one of £11,500 to Ahern's own account, two each of £2,000 to his daughters, all from Sterling conversions. Blair Hughes, former manager of the Irish Permanent branch in Drumcondra said there could be no other explanation of the lodgments than that they were immediately proceeded by Sterling lodgments. There couldn't be an *shudders* offshore account, could there???

And Ahern has previously told the Tribunal that these lodgements were salary cheques. So unless the D/Fin paid its staff in sterling, Ahern has lied under oath on this matter also.

RTE just reporting Ahern's lawyers issuing a statement saying he "needs more time" to explain the discrepancies ...

Ahern receives huge quantities of inexplicable Sterling in 1994. Gee, I wonder what that could be for?
