Daily Mail: Mahon report to be published after summer, will dismiss Bertie's evidence

Senan Malony has an exclusive in this morning's Irish Daily Mail which reports that the Mahon Tribunal report is "virtually complete" and will leave former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern's reputation in "tatters".

The findings of the three-judge inquiry, which are 'virtually complete', run into thousands of pages - with one volume dedicated solely to Mr Ahern, sources told the Irish Daily Mail yesterday.
Malony's report say the Tribunal's finding won't be published until after the summer recess to allow the Oireachtas to be in session and consider its findings

The tribunal us set to find against Mr. Ahern over funds he received from abroad and which were lodged to mysterious accounts.

How dare the Tribunal not swallow the one about his winnings on the horses. And to think the sheeple reelected him after 2006, and famous Dobson tearful interview. Has he a reputation to be left in tatters ? And to think that his minister came out all the time defening him, even during the Tribunal in the Sindo and elsewhere. I have in mind some who are still there, Martin, O Caoimh, O Dea, and others.

Hope it is nicely laid out in order for the Gardai. Someone give them a nudge and tell them that a new guncarriage with a file will be wending its stately Buck Mulligan way across from the DPP in the autumn with the President leading the way playing a jaunty air on the kalamazoo.

With so many files criss-crossing between the Gardai the DPP and usual choo-choo from the Oireachtas I fear we may need another central Dublin roundabout or there will surely be a great crash and the sky will darken with paperwork like betting slips aflutter over Fairyhouse Racetrack.

You mean somebody, somewhere still believes he has a reputation?

Presumably FG/Lab have someone rooting around looking for speeches/articles by M Martin, O'Dea, O Cuiv et al defending the integrity of their then Lord and Master for republication in the days after the Mahon Tibunal finally reports. Hopefully Vincent Browne will exhume Mansergh from his political grave and subject him to dog's abuse for our entertainment after the report comes out. It should be an enjoyable time

How will this be debated in Oireachtas. Given that FF are now in opposition.
