Yes, it appears the two judges who sit with Mr Justice Alan Mahon on the Tribunal have made arrangements to return to their judicial functions in the courts within the next two to three weeks.

The Tribunal's Report will be contained in more than one volume and will probably be published by the Government just after the ff Ard Fheis which is due to take place early March (2nd and 3rd, RDS).

This will mean the Mahon Report will be hanging over the so-called 'soldiers of destiny' like the proverbial Sword of Democles during their convocation, if that's not too posh a word to describe what's left of that party.

Call me a cynical old git, but delays of this magnitude usually mean its been nobbled to protect the kleptocracy, and had to undergo extensive "revision" to make it conform to the expectations of the gombeen class.

As an eternal optimist (no, really - I get called a bitter negative Doomer for railing against stupid destructive self-defeating and/or insane policies, just shows how utterly f***ed up Ireland really is) I may yet be pleasantly surprised though.

O'Brien did not contest the case, then appeared outside the court smiling and saying nothing but 'sin a bhfuil', and, so I believe, his lifestyle does not seem to have been adversely impacted upon by what to others would be a ruinous judgement. Was that judgement against O Brien or the paper only ? Something very strange went on there.

A developer who gave evidence at the Mahon Tribunal is in severe financial straits

From Mahon Tribunal to Menolly Homes, Ross has been plagued by woes - National News - Independent.ie

This bit of the article is interesting

He memorably told the planning inquiry that he had been "plagued" for money by the late Fianna Fail TD Liam Lawlor.

On October 8, 2003, Mr Ross told the Mahon Tribunal that he paid Mr Lawlor over £40,000 to get the postal address of a housing estate changed from Clondalkin to Lucan.

What title will the report be published under? I'd suggest 'The Annals of the Fifth Master' seeing as this thing has acquired its own cultural and historical significance over a considerable period of time. Joyce came up with Ulysses faster than the Irish State can come up with the Mahon Report.

    EDIT:

We've had the 'Tain Bo Cuailgne' perhaps this one could be known as the Coin Bo Lowry (Lowry's Cash Cow)

Thinking on the 19th rumoured release date just before the FF Ard Fheis in a telephone kiosk in Ardmore ... is this another piece of establishment snakery to allow FF to have all the little ducks waiting by the media pond to give a unified message? Something like 'Mahon? Whats dat? I don't know this fellow Lowry at all at all and besides we're different now... can yah give us the loan of an oul' fiver .. ah go on ... I'll give it back to yeh..."

someone should pass that guy a glass of whiskey and a pistol and close the door behind him. - no better still: let him sit an a perspex box on O'Connell St. from 08:30 to 17:00 4 days a week for 2 months and charge ppl 50c to toss rotting fruit at him.
    that will *never* get old.
