What are the chances that the DPP will get involved?

In the end Bertie's own greed cost him more money than he would have received if he had governed with honesty, decency, integrity and in the interests of the Irish people.

For he could have ended his political career as President with the massive perks and salary that brings.

Quite frankly along with Haughey. . . No pair have caused more damage to this state and its citizens.

I think Bertie believed he was going to do both - I don't believe for a moment he thought it would catch up with hom, such was the degree of FF infiltration into the media, judiciary and the Gardai.
    The more things change....

It also cost him the one thing he wanted most of all... the love and adoration of de peeple. He was a pretty lonely and undistinguished character who didn't do as Haughey did and use his cunning and guile to enrich himself he used it to build a his self confidence and feed his need to be liked.

He was smart enough to do what he needed to get to the top, but not nearly smart enough to keep himself there.

I hope the Mahon report fillets the scummy little spiv and leaves whatever is left of his reputation in tatters.

The fact that FF are in opposition will ensure that they will not be able to stymie the discussion on the report's findings.

You mean, a Man of the People brought down by the Old Clongonian West Brit elites of the Law Library?

(Sorry, just getting into Oggy mode...)
