Good question. While Lowry clearly has serious questions to answer, it is sickening to listen to the outrage expressed by MM, who it seems has suddenly discovered the whole concept of 'cabinet responsibility', despite doing his best to distance himself from his own Govts appalling record. He was only too happy to accept Lowry's support, especially in the dying days of the previous Govt, when Lowry was very much the glue that kept them afloat. It would be interesting to know what reaction we would have had from Martin if the report had been published two months earlier.

Has the secret deal between Lowry & Brian Cowen ever come to light?

This was perhaps part of the deal.

We know a school was part of it

The letters, which were given to students in Oireachtas envelopes to hand to their parents, state that Mr Lowry played a key role in securing a new school building for the community college.

It had been a "primary condition" of his support for the Fianna Fáil-led government.

"Using my influence . . . I ensured the community school was rapidly brought beyond the planning stage, that the project was brought to the top of the school building priority list, and that an irreversible decision was made to fund same."

He continued: "In order to achieve this I brought the project right into the heart of Government and made sure that the project would become a reality."

On page 27 of the report it is acknowledged by Lowry that In the 80s and 90s he held 19 bank accounts. And we have a further crazy scenario of the Mahon Tribunal due to report into investigation of the former Finance Minister, Ahern, who held no bank account.

Indo is really going for the attacks on Lowry - not much of O'Brien in their articles!

Fingleton gave Lowry IR£200,000 home loan

FORMER Irish Nationwide boss Michael Fingleton met Michael Lowry and "within a matter of days" gave him a IR£200,000 loan for a controversial property purchase.

According to the report of the Moriarty Tribunal, Mr Fingleton gave Mr Lowry 100pc finance for the purchase of a house in Carysfort Avenue in Blackrock, Dublin, after their meeting. Mr Lowry bought it as a second home in 1996.

12 months on from the Moriarty Tribunal report and we have Dennis O'Brien coming to the Taoiseach's aid in Davos and Denis O'Brien standing cheering the Taoiseach as rings the opening bell on Wall Street last week.

    Something not quite right here.....
Why did Minister Phil Hogan drop the independent review into planning irregularities within Dublin and Cork city councils and Carlow, Meath, Galway and Cork county councils ?
