Whats gone wrong with the ryanair spin machine?

Imagine THREE attempts to land (Irish Times 28th) then a diversion.

A few points come to mind
    1. In any airline with standards two missed approaches to the same airport is considered as criteria for a mandatory diversion.
    2. Was this a case of pressonitis rather than have to explain or justify diverting?
    3. What was the experience level? Shannon is not a demanding airport by any yardstick.
    4. How come Aer Lingus was'nt blamed.
Maybe the PR wallahs were too preoccupied with the 10% drop in the share price yesterday after the results?
    The mask is slipping

Now you are showing your true ignorance

SNN is noted for strong cross winds

    Winds vary

Airbus actually carried out their cross wind L/TO testing for the A380 at SNN

Dont you get it? Good training leads to correct decisions, no one gets hurt, the worse thing a Pilot can have is an ego

You dont want to fly with the pilot that 'always' gets it down.

Nature has ways of playing with such Pilots.

Can you tell me have you flown in or out of SNN as a pilot?
Three attempts to make a "good " decision?
If as alleged, winds were out of limits then they had no business being there in the first place
Stick to pushing paper or whatever it is you do.
You are out of your depth as usual waffling about that which you clearly know little

Btw check your facts . A380 X wind certification was carried out at Keflavik

Seemed like a strangely defensive reaction from the airport though, ie. another (Ryanair) plane landed safely minutes beforehand. They seem to be contradicting Ryanair's description of the weather also.

You can easily access weather reports(metars/tafs) for the period

Hi Cinik. What a coincidence - I didn't read this thread before responding to 'Sailor' on the other one about Ryanair standards (an oxymoron if there ever was one!).

You are absolutely spot on to pick up on this, and indeed I made the very same points to Sailor about mandatory diversion.
These guys broke the law IMHO. I stand to be corrected if their Ops Manual allows it - but I seriously doubt JAA rules permit this carry on, whatever about Ryanairs policies.

But hey, when you're dealing with amateurs and cowboys, anything goes.
