..simple - who the ************************ do you think provides the means for such rubbish public transport as their is ? That's right - us, motorists. Annual motortax alone, excluding VRT and VAT, contributes approx Eur 900 million to central exchequer. And we both know nothing like that is spent on the road system, year in, year out. VRT is worth Eur 1.4Bn. I wonder how your bicycle-riding, law-breaking commuters plan to replace that revenue stream, exactly..........??

yes, you're right. You have failed. And no cycling isn't for weirdo's.........but it isn't for normal people, either. Not when the Road Safety Association advises against cycling to schools, for instance, on the grounds of poor roads and traffic. We need more, better, roads, and it's time to catch up with the rest of the world.

This is a free country, and if I decide to drive 2 or 52 miles a day, I will - and what you think of it is, frankly, irrelevant. Good road transport is for anyone that wants it, and why should I give up my roadspace to you - if you're such a fan of public transport, you don't need it, and won't be on it...........

To paraphrase Colonel Jessups' soliloquy in a Few Good Men, from a motoring perspective.....:

    The Motorist
“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a buss pass and get the ************************ off the road”

Thanks galwaytt, i just hadnt got the figures.
I repeat, i am convinced a modern action group could achieve things for motorists. I think its fair to suggest every young driver out their would sign up instantly, as a start.
The objective simple... tackle the rip off aspect of revenue making... money that is not been put back into the industry. Money which instead is helping our inept government try patch up their shambolic health system, and other failed policies.
There is a revolution coming, why not start the ball rolling on motoring. We need action to make government take notice. They know were all pissed off, but their in a comfort zone, knowing all the electorate ever do, is moan among themselves.
    Anyone up for a fight?
