If you took an early morning train into Heuston last week, you wouldn't think so,
Grainne, I am still waiting for an answer to the question I put earlier. Do you know anything at all about the Stasi? Do you know anything about the role of the Stasi in the GDR? The methods they used? The structure of the organisation? Or did you think using the word "Stasi" would sound cool in this context? Do you know where the word "Stasi" comes from?

With all due respect YOU are just looking for a row, maybe you should take a trip in or out of Heuston Station.

The problem at Heuston, both fare evasion and the response to it at the start of the month, is that the station is dependent on manual checking of tickets. The barriers at Connolly and Docklands seem to work pretty well and they are relatively difficult to evade if someone hasn't a valid ticket. That is the route to go for the southwestern services unless there's a compo issue involved for the checkers. On train checking teams should be looked at as well. Ianrod Eireann are entitled not to be ripped off by the people using its service.
My point precisly, I also have an annual ticket, I find the whole situation very agressive as well. Fare evaders just show an old ticket and walk past the ticket checkers.

We're threatened because of the ongoing participation in the Iraq War.

Why do you think the Madrid trains were bombed?

If there is a threat it's because our 'democratic' government - including the Green Party - allows Shannon to be used as a stop-over for troops and CIA flights.

Are IE entitled to rip their customers off? Because that's what they do.

The funny thing is that you never see any ticket checkers meeting a train which has been delayed (quite a lot if you travel from Naas). There know what reaction they would get.
What do fare evaders expect? Tea and cakes?
A lot of train stations are unmanned, I've lost count the number of times, i've got on the train and no connductor came around to me so i could buy th ticket
