DTO studies show SOME not all but some bus speeds can be better than the Luas. Red Luas is slow it has to be there are so many very tight turns take a trip around James' Hospital and listen to the wheels grinding against the tracks.
yeah , i probably shouldve clarified that. 77, 77a, 49 are all pretty good if you want to get into town fast. (though 49s gone down hill since they axed the 49b and forced it to incorporate that route. takes fecking ages in firhouse touring the estate when it used to be straight down the firhouse road)

56a , 54a, and 50 do fecking tours of the housing estates before getting into town.
Well, thats wrong. The new 74a means that the 49 no longer tours up by Woodstown

then how come the literature only came through my door yesterday?

and i was on the 49 last week, true it doesnt go up to woodstown anymore . but it still takes a left at mortons and takes a right just before you get to the roundabout. it does a tour of carriglea before coming back out onto the firhouse road by the shopping centre. its only knocked about 2minutes off a 15 to 20 minute diversion

the route was chosen months ago, the options were published some time in mid 2006. This is nothing new. This route is wtihout a shadow of a doubt the best option for a suburban orbital line for Western Dublin, especially when one takes into account other proposed lines. MW is not a stand alone project
We need to radically change every system that has enabled the wholesale destruction of the Irish landscape, rural and urban. There is no time for incremental step by step measures. The systems have failed utterly and the only hope for a real recovery requires the rule book to be torn up completely.
