I just got word from the Railway Procurement Agency that Metro North will be diverted in an arc around some houses in Drumcondra, adding two additional bends to the tunnel, making the journey longer and the tunnel more expensive to dig and maintain.
I am assured that the additional cost will be only 2m and an addition of 2 seconds to the journey time, due to the reduced speed of trains taking two additional bends.
