Will Fianna Fáilers, Greens and PDs please justify this

Come on lads - show your party loyalty.

Do you support the suddenness of the government's implementation of this?

To me it speaks volumes: it shows the contempt, arrogance and ignorance of our TDs. If this is implemented, I will never - ever - again vote for the parties concerned.

Luckily, my test is on November 1st. I just hope I pass.

Let's be fair on the Greens please. They were quite possibly not consulted.

They (and the PDs) have the potential to bring the Govt down over this. Let them think of it. For now, there is no reason to attack them.

Price of milk. Tax on shoes. Provisional licenses are next?

Look, you cant bring down the Government over this.
    Government is a serious thing.
Id love if they did bring it down (naturally), but it wont, and perhaps it shouldn't.

It should. Why not? This is a bread and butter issue for thousands of decent citizens.

Collective Cabinet Responsibility. They can't pick and chose when it applies.

It certainly could be made into a "Tax on Childrens Shoes" issue, and allow the Greens and Indo's to walk away from Government at a time when FF are having to justify this, and huge pay increases..

Given that this would affect mainly young people, it would finally drive young people to the polls in their droves to vote against FF.....

The Greens have nothing to lose on this one.. Nothing

Private members motion from FG/Lab/SF next week in the Dail, and lets see where the TD's support lies

I can't believe people want a continuation of untrained drivers driving around the place. It was the sort of thing that was always objectionable, and it was always the right time to bring it to an immediate end.

What other country in the world has "optional" driving tests????????
If there is a future, it will be Green.

There's a lot of changes happening too suddenly with this government but for all the urgency, the Green introductions have some measure (and don't have the same contempt) - I don't think the house building regulations were introduced overnight and anyway they mainly hit a sector which needed to be hit before - the builders.

There are way too many threads on this on this site now.

So are you saying that you want to give people 4 days to make alternative arrangements for work and other, when the best solution (tests) has waiting lists of up to 12 months in some areas?

Perhaps we could fix the system first, then start enforcing it?

Pfft! You call control over two ministeries nothing?
The standard of excellence is an infinite suggestiveness, naturalism is the one thing to be condemned.
