I have to disagree, as someone who fies more than most on here, Aer Lingus is a good airline. OK there are faults which irritate the hell out of me, notably the paying for an extra bag that contains no extra weigh allowance (learned that to my cost 270euro worth), in general on USA flights the staff are good, however, on short haul the staff definately could be better, many are just there for the money and the customer is a nuisance. The staff in Dublin though I have to say are fantastic, very accomodating and very polite.

If you think Aer Lingus are bad try US Airways OR American Airlines, you think MOL's out fit are bad?

There's another cute angle to this.
Mr.Mueller gets a bonus of 200K shares if he gets the price over 1.0 for 5 consecutive days. So far it has stubbornly refused to stay up there.

What's the share price doing now?
Micko is doing Christoph a big favour.
He'll be on the Christmas list at the Muellers gaff.

What was RY,s average share price in obtaining the shares it has?

I thought it was about 1.29 per share, I could be wrong, but its close.

This could be a cunning plan, attract a counter bid..

Just bid for Ireland altogether. All hail the great leader O'Leary.

Seriously though id love to see the cuts and heads that would roll if O'Leary had the power. Unions, HSE, politicians, FAS, they would all be in the line of fire, and it would be great.

Anyone would be a great leader compared with the eejit that we have right now.

O'Leary runs Ryanair as a virtual fiefdom. Workers rights are completely trampled on, employment practices are, to put it mildly, unorthodox. It is very easy to run a company where you have stifled all competing interests and it certainly is not how to run a country.

If he were to be put in charge I would be avoiding carraige rides in Sarajevo or convertable lincoln rides in Dallas if I were him

I have never flown with Ryanair and if this happens, I might as well forget about Aer Lingus as well.

The Irish govt continue to hold a 25% ownership in Aer Lingus so the above statement is wrong.

Ryanairs bid does require acceptence by the Irish govt to be successful
I'm not sure of the exact figure, but it could be that a certain amount of shareholders accepting the offer forces the remainder to sell. If that figure is lower than 75%, then Ryanair are correct.

Think this is a good idea. Ryanair could use Aerlingus Fleet of A330 and order A350 to finally launch the Atlantic Airline that they talked about. Not only would this be a huge success (due to the cheap prices) it would be great for us as i'm sure they'd have more links than ever.
