Of course there is the multitude of pond life cyclists who ignore all Traffic laws. For too long cyclopaths have got away with flouting red lights, weaving in and out of traffic & bus lanes, idiotically cutting in front of cars and cycling on pavements. More needs to be done for their own good and for pedestrians, even if it's a spoke in their wheels.
They should be ruthlessly fined on the spot. Instead of waiting for them to be disposed of by trucks, appropriate licensing and fines should be enacted to encourage the sod lazy Gardai get off their ar$e and nail them. Cyclists must have insurance like car drivers and motorcyclists They need to have points on their licence for stupid bicycling. I have lost count of the times I have nearly collided with a cyclist in the winter dark because being selfish idiots they think it is their God-given right to drive without lights.
We must put an end to the the bicycling lobby in DCC. They only encourage lousy advertising deals whilst they promote unsafe cycling. We really need a journalist to investigate that one.
