Aer Lingus makes Operating loss of €81 M

    Market News

Aer Lingus stated they made an Operating loss of €81 Million before exceptional items which are likely to be substantial given a planned reduction in workforce.

Net Cash decreased from €653 Million in March of 2009 to €336 Million, a drop of €317 Million a drop of 48.5%.

Given the substantial redundancy plans in place it is clear that the cash position will worsen substantially in the short term.

How many of the management have been sacked or resigned after two years of massive losses or do they get a bonus for having to let between 600 & 1100 staff redundant

That is typical of capitalism and the so-called free market, the fats cats at
the top line up their own and the workers at the bottom get shafted.

You are talking of Aer Lingus here so the "workers" have been well looked after over the years hence why its such a basket case now.
