    *A1/DOWN* There are no further reports of delays approaching Newry on the A1 from the Dublin side.
    There is no mention of these delays on the AA website?

    Someone telling porkies?

    Actually, it was their second item on the one o'clock news. The reporter also mentioned interviewing shoppers who were on the picket line this morning and went shopping afterwards.

    In addition, I heard from someone who works in Newry that RTE have an outside broadcast truck in town today.

    One caveat though..... Nope, just checked this out as I thought the UK government was going to reverse their 15% VAT to 17,5% next month, but they're holding it until end of December. So there's no real excuse for such a huge influx on Tuesday 24th of November other than what we all suspect.
    One of the radio programmes interviewed a Newry shop manager who said that he had been talking to a public sector who had left the picket line to go shopping up North and was going back to the picket line later.

    Eamon Keane was just talking to the Manager of the Buttercrane shopping centre. Half of the license plates parking in Newry are southern reg ones. Normally on a weekday approximately a quarter of all parked vehicles are from the South. That is a significant increase.

    My god, they really are showing two fingers to the government... (still needs to be verified though whether a significant number are PS workers, but it looks that way)
    It always amazed me how many people voted for a party which contains the word "fail".
