Air Corp plane crash in Galway. 2 feared dead.

The crash happened in Connemara around 6pm. No more details. When I get them I will post.

I know someone training in the Aer Corps. I hope to God it's not him.

I wonder was it that old Cessna 172 they still have knocking around.

On 9 o'clock news now. "A training plane" crashes in "Connemara".

    "light aircraft", "2-seater training plane".

    Sounds like a PC9 alright.

edit: PC9 just confirmed - KN spot on as usual.

Do these planes have ejector seats?

Two men "officially missing" according to the Aer Corps.

Terrible news. Thoughts with the family. Hopefully not an issue with servicing the planes etc.

For a small air arm the Air Corps have a bit of an issue with death in service.

4 were killed 10 years ago in a helicopter accident (one of those Dauphins). Not sure if that was a training exercise or not.
