The majority cannot therefore be the elite.

November deadline approaches and the Black Dalek is collecting air miles, publicity and duty free.
Will he meet Hamas on his travels ?
After Denis Donaldson will Hamas want to meet anybody from Sinn Féin ?

Mise_Eire, if you read the link it says:

The Sinn Fein president is travelling to the Middle East on Tuesday and will meet with Mr Abbas and members of the Palestine Legislative Council, including Hamas.

Padraig - the link says what is planned - I'm wondering if it will happen .... If the reports are true Peter King and various semi-Allies of SF in the USA are horrified at the thought of Hamas sinking so low as to meet the Black Dalek - no wait, it's the other way round.

Will SF risk the displeasure of the Yanks ?

Funnily enough I welcome this idea.

While I am opposed to the republican agenda on this island, the Palestinians could learn a lot from Sinn Fein IRA's approach to a peace process.

Sinn Fein IRA proceeded through the process with purpose and unity and proved to be honest negotiators.

If you contrast their approach with the chaotic and dishonest approach from the PLO, there are a lot of lessons to be learned.

Don't really see much harm in this although I'm not a SF voter. Jaw jaw is better than war war.

J118 was over in Sri Lanka at the same crack not too long back . this seems to be their role in life now , travelling round the world trying to persuade people to get with whatever American plan which requires a surrender to imperialism . Agents of influence at home and abroad . Im sure theres a few people in Hizballah who would like a quick word with him about why he sent a British agent named Denis Donaldson to Beiruit in the early 80s , compromising god knows how many good people over there who wanted to help the Irish struggle. Im also pretty sure Hamas will have the good sense to tell him to feck off out of it . Im reminded of another bearded tree hugger who went to that part of the world who was suspected of being a British agent . Terry Wiate ended up chained to a radiator for a few years . I doubt we'll be so lucky in this instance .

Firstly, I'm not aware of any statement from King, or anyone else in the US, about this visit.

Secondly, when in the past they have objected to visits undertaken by Gerry Adams, those objections have never stopped the visits going ahead, so even if they did object, why would it make any difference?

Lastly, the trip will go ahead as planned.
