Just seen this.
Is Adam Price correct to argue that SF should join EFA & thus leave UEL?

Quite impressed actually by the lsiting of parties and their commitment to to the national labgauges on the home page. Would be a good move.
It's not an unreasonable suggestion. The EFA is a more natural fit for Sinn Fein politically than the UEL.
I suspect though that they will stay in the UEL primarily because it gives them a little bit of lefty street cred at no real cost. Membership of the UEL doesn't actually mean much, but it helps keep some of the left leaning activists happy and those people are a bit of SF who've been increasingly grumpy in recent times. Leaving it would be a bit of a slap in the face for them.
Also, I don't think that the EFA has full group status in the European parliament, which would leave De Bruin with less access to facilities unless the EFA is involved in some kind of technical arrangement with another group.
They sound like vaguely progressive nationalists. But they don't seem to have any commitment to socialist principles. So, I don't think so. What's to be gained?
p.s. Who is Adam Price?
Plently of leftist parties in their membership with most parties being involved in a struggle for national identity. Would seem like a nice mix of Left wing parties plus nationalist parties including left wing Basque and left wing Celtic parties. Hardly a bad mix to be among.
I'd personally prefer this grouping to others but thats me.
Plaid Cymru MP for East Carmathen & probable next leader of the party.
BTW is not EFA bigger than UEL?

MEP for Plaid Cymru.
considering the parties listed Its a real left wing alliance. Fantastic to have SNP, SF and Plaid Cymru in the one group. I am pleasantly surprised about this option and hope its going to happen. fingers crossed. If this were to happen the Joe Higgins would probably enter GUE i guess.
