Sinn Féin councillor faces five charges

    From Ireland.com:

A Sinn Féin councillor was charged yesterday with five offences arising out of an incident in West Belfast last month.

Fra McCann (53) was accused of assaulting two police officers, disorderly behaviour, obstructing police and resisting an officer in the execution of his duty.

Mr McCann was remanded on bail for a month.
Does anyone know anything about the alleged incident?

    Typical

Typical of SF, they're pissed off with a decision so they get violent and shirty with the PSNI. Beware the day we allow them to introduce their so-called community restorative justice schemes in this State. CRJ is just a veil for SF control of nationalist/republican areas, heaven help anyone who would dare to disagree.

He's not the only Shinner convicted of attacking police officers recently.

A group of four men from Leitrim, all of them Sinn Fein activists, (and all of them pillars of society...) were jailed for around 18 months each for a planned racist attack on a group of Eastern European immigrants, and for assaulting two Gardai in the process (seriously injuring one of them)

It was on the front page of the Herald on the 19th of June

I can safely say that they were not Sinn Féin activists, and you really should know better than to believe everything you read in that rag.
