When did "The Good Fight" become Terrorist

Fianna Fail and the PDs contend they want to reclaim 1916 for the Irish people (I'd guess it's more about reclaiming votes). So apparently the volunteers and the executed leaders would not be condemned as terrorists by Fianna Fail, PDs etc.

So, at what point did the Republican movement become terrorists and no longer a resistance movement. DeValera, Michael Collins, Cathal Brugha, Tom Barry etc., etc. Who were terrorists and who were "fredom fighters"

Is there a difference? I always thought the two were synonymous.
Nothing will motivate the lazy / apathetic / Americanised / west-British types to embrace their culture and the Irish language.

    Good question.

    After the civil war ended?
That's complete nonsense. I disagree with you.

They became terrorists once it suited those who had gained independence to have them labelled as terrorists. They had to look nice and responsible to their British superiors (despite political independence) by condemning violence, etc etc etc. A sell-out, really.

So the PIRA, CIRA, RIRA...etc are all fighting a war against terrorism?

Sorry. I meant there's no such thing as a war against terrorism, but that will lead this thread well off-topic so yeah, I think we'd better leave it.

But if the IRA are legitimate soldiers, and they are fighting against people who you consider to be terrorists, is this the reason why IRA supporters whinge when one of their members is killed, yet regard it as a legitimate act of war when they kill, say, a group of protestant textile workers?
