Shinners want release of Gerry McCabe killers?

I've been informed that Ogra SF want the release of the murderers of Det. Gda. Gerry McCabe from Castlerea Prison because it is now three years since the IRA issued its formal cessation of the armed campaign. Kevin Walsh and Pearse McCauley are currently imprison in relation to the murder.

I've sure many will remember this issue from brtual performance of Sinn Fein's Kerry County Councillor Toireasa Ferris on the Late Late show in February of 2006 when she infamously stated: “It wouldn’t be fair to condemn one individual action when over 3,000 were killed. I don’t feel I have the right, or that it would be fair to condemn one individual act,”.

Below, a scan of the leaflet I received today in Dublin:

Have I any time for OSF? No, timewasters and performers of stunts.
Was Gerry McCabe in some way more special than any other victim of the last forty years? It appears so and I expect howls of indignant protest but I have yet to hear a reasonable argument as to why it is right that these men be kept in jail while child killers and throat slashers who committed their crimes since the McCabe incident are free. That is not a comment on the rights and wrongs of the killing but people in the 26c who insist they are not released are treating other victims as second class.

Indeed, and it's quiet easy to see where certain posters sympathies lie.

When you consider the fact that hundreds of people who have been involved in killings in the north have been released and those like the paras on Bloody Sunday who never served a day for their crimes never had to be released it makes me wonder how the righteous condemnation gang have the cheek to raise the issue once again. No shock or outrage from the folks down south about the release of convicted, some times mass murderers because it guaranteed the GFA and was therefore useful and a price worth paying. What a pack of hypocrites.

Obviously Northerners, British soldiers, politicians etc and people from the ROI who died in the conflict in incidents such as Dublin and Monagha have less shock horror value to the coffin trailers who continually go on about the killing of Garda G McCabe RIP. I personally condemn the killing and feel that it was very wrong however the myopic condemnation of some on P.ie makes me sick. Let the poor man and all the victims of the conflict rest in peace.

I will happily condemn the killing, castigate the killers and point out that they even broke the rules of their own organisation and can't even claim to have the support of many republicans. I'd still like to know why a southern life is more valuable than a northern one and would appreciate you, as the OP, adressing that point.

What about Seamus Ludlow an active member of the Fine Gael party. Murdered and still no justice for his family because his killers were members of the UDR(British Forces)/Red Hand Commandos. When will we talk about him?
