Bairbre de Brun Chairs prestigious EU conference on climate change

Sinn Fein MEP Bairbre de Brun recently chaired a very prestigious EU cconference on global warming

    http://www.europarl.europa.eu/member...ge=EN&id=28511

Speaking at the conference she said:

    Quote:
The theme is very topical given the proposed EU climate and energy legislation. The conference is entitled ‘Feeding the World under Climate Threat?’ and will look at agriculture, including biofuels, its impact on climate change and the contribution agriculture can make to tackling global warming.
Bairbre de Brún is a member of the European Parliament Environment Committee and the Temporary Committee on Climate Change. The MEP will also attend the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Poznan, Poland in December.

de Brún chairs EU Conference on Climate Change and Food Supply | GUE/NGL

As climate change is an incredibly serious business affecting us all its incredibly heartening to see our local SF politicians literally helping to save the world.

This also illustrates the importance that SF attach to environmental issues. The Green Party talks a lot. This shows that Sinn Féin act.

That's where I stop reading,SF spend their time worrying about a warming when we have the coldest year in the past decade. There's Climate change alright but not the type the SF bandwagon have jumped on.Obama must have gave them a call and told them to start the campaign for CO2 Taxing.

Of all the anti-Lisbon groups Sinn Fein are the ones I trust least. If they had been allowed into government with FF they would have embraced Lisbon and getting excited about being given a committee role in the EP confirms their essential opportunism on this and every issue.

Smart move, and I campaigned against the Lisbon Treaty. SF has obviously identified "climate change" as an avenue towards increased respectability. Well, towards a little respectability anyway. Cynical......as usual.

Oh that is complete rubbish, SF would have never embraced the Treaty the way it was written. Mary Lou was only one of a mere few that actually read, studied and could without script tell you the pros and cons of the Treaty. I found it appalling that the others were telling us to vote yes when in reality they knew nothing about it and could not even debate the issues. They resorted to using scare tactics to force a yes, sending out misleading information stating the tap (monetarily) would run out if we did vote No. Yes give us the money, we'll sell our souls to the devil, NOT. FF, FG and Labour were willing to sell our constituion to 29 states after 800 years of stuggle to gain our rights back. Not good common sense on their part to attempt to undermind the people.
