I met both of them and I know they would have been so excited by PJ's candidature in the county council elections. I'm from neighbouring Tyrone but sometimes I contribute to Sinn Fein as an advisor and I remember Dessie as simply and unequivocably Sinn Fein through and through. They was no question about his desire and that would sustain in good times and bad. Modest P.J. would have been chuffed at getting the opportunity to step Sinn Fein and I know with the week that is in it a replacement can be found but there is no panic on it.
As for the technical side of traffic accidents I do believe that speed limits are not compatable with the road surfaces that are in use and need to be drastically reduced. 100 km/h or 63 miles per hour isn't alloed on B roads in the north and I noticed recently in Gweedore that the surfaces are uneven and make control of the vehicle wobbly and obviously this would lessen the grip of tyres to the road
