Libertas and SF election pact ?

In view of their shared position in the Lisbon campaign, do you think they will make common cause in the forthcoming Euro elections now that Libertas is about to register as a political party ?

Lest Mr. Ganley feel himself solely entitled to feelings of dislike for another party its probably only fair to point out that SF would hardly warm to a party that commentators regard as being able to fill the PDs shoes Small shoes to fill indeed.

It makes sense for anti-Lisbon voters to vote for all the anti-Lisbon candidates in order of preference or tactically. It is our best chance of killing the second referendum before it starts. It's not about who you like but what you want. We want the referendum result adhered to and the Lisbon Treaty abandoned.

The refusal of the main parties to accept that decision means we have to use our votes in the European elections to make the point again.

I don't think he has ever stated that he "hates" SF.. he does however have diametric political views towards SF, which I am sure would rule out any consideration of a formal political pact

Both entities found common cause during the Lisbon referendum, and Declan Ganley and Mary Lou Mc Donald were very effective in outlining the case for the No side, albeit coming from different angles, but that's about it.

Anyone who thinks that because two entities can make a pact, simply because they agree on "one issue", while ignoring all other policy positions, is naive in the extreme

Until it actually has to make real decisions... like passing the legislation to bail out the banks.. then it veers right...

And please Factual-bot.. save me the lecture.. I've heard it all before

I think that it is eminently sensible for Libertas and Sinn Féin to ally with one another in the next European Elections. After all, in addition to their nationalistic europhobia, both are intimately connected to military organisations that have a record of illegality and torture and from which much of their respective funding derives.

That is nonsense. Sinn Féin are committed to economic equality and Libertas as their name suggests is an economic liberal party.

There is not the slightest chance of a pact. I would urge all those who vote for mary lou to not vote for Ganley. What they want is much worse than Lisbon.

The idea of a pact was floated by some during lisbon. Then everyone in the room turned around to them and said "what the ******************** are ya at? Libertas are not our allies and they do not have the interests of anyone but themselves.

This is FACT, there will be no agreement between SF and Libertas
